Platform Features
If you are interested to get deeper inside the NAVmobile and AXmobile solutions, here you can find detailed data about the technical specifics of the add-on.
- Mobile platform
NAVmobile and AXmobile platforms let the mobile employees place every process and data through the mobile device directly in the coprorate ERP. The organizations may start with their vital processes and then, gradually, widen the scope of the processes covered by the mobile solutions, deploying additional functionalities without interrupting the work of the previously implemented ones.
- Mobile functional modules
The mobile platform provides a vast amount of features allowing third parties to develop and deploy mobile functional modules like Sales module, Warehouse module, Service module, etc. Each functional module provides user forms, business logic, business entities, reports and documents. The functional modules are intended to help organizations automate specific business tasks.
- Mobile reporting engine
NAVmobile and AXmobile include a mobile reporting engine, which facilitates runing, displaying and printing of detailed reports through the mobile device. The reports can consume local (mobile) data, remote data (stored anywhere), supporting rich displaying and printing capabilities. The reports can be deployed as part of the functional modules or sent to the devices remotely and separately.
- Mobile print templating engine
The print templating engine allows creating of rich document templates used for document printing like invoices, orders, stock receipts and others.
- Online operating mode
The Live Data Link engine which is a part of the Smart sunchronization technology allows the devices to consume data in real-time manner from a remote data source like MS SQL Server for example. The online data can be consumed from various on-device components like forms, business logic, printing and reporting templates and mixed with offline data.
- Offline operating mode
The unique Mobile bi-directional synchronization technology allows the devices to work completely offline after getting the latest data from the ERP and then send the data back, when there is network coverage.
- Role-based mobile device user experience
The Mobile Services support the notion of the device role. The device role corresponds to the role of the employee and defines the functions and the data sent to the device. The device user role can be easily changed from the IT team remotely from the server and automatically propagated on the device OTA (over-the-air).
- OTA (over-the-air) automatic bi-directional synchronization with Microsoft Dynamics
The Mobile synchronization technology allows automatic synchronization of any data between the mobile device and Microsoft Dynamics ERP. New types of data can be added quickly to the bi-directional synchronisation process. The data synchronization is done transperantly behind the scenes which allows the modules developers to focus on the core business process instead of dealing with hard technical tasks.
- OTA (over-the-air) automatic deployment and update of the mobile software
On the Mobile platform can be quickly installed new devices through an automated remote deployment tool, requiring just a few user clicks.
The deployment process can be tailored to implement additional software components on the device (keyboard layouts, libraries, etc.). New functional modules versions are automatically pushed to the devices through GPRS/WiFi or any other http capable communication media without user interaction. NAVmobile and AXmobile do not require to have the devices back to office to upgrade or configure them - just upload the new functional module on the server and the rest is done automatically by the mobile platform itself.
- OTA (Over-the-air) device management
The IT team can send different types of files (scripts, configuration files, OS configuration files, reports ,etc.) remotely to specific devices or group of devices.
- Web-based administrative console for central remote device management and monitoring
IT teams can manage and monitor the various aspects of the system including the devices, the synchronization process and others. IT teams can set new devices for deployment or configure exisiting devices remotely through a rich web-based user interface. Each aspect of the devices configuration and even mobile OS management is done via Web-based console accessible virtually from anywhere.
- Mobile SDK to change existing or develop new mobile functional modules
Third parties can quickly develop functional modules to meet specific business requirements. The functional modules are then automatically deployed, configured and monitored from the server without an additional development effort.
